About IOUNV
HISTORY
International Organisation of UNited Volunteers(IOUNV) was founded by Meshiyach Cosmos Yahzitere. The journey towards formation of the group commenced by 8th January, 2008 when he became a columnist in the Moonlight Newspapers in Niger Delta Zone, Nigeria. As a writer on a strange and controversial religious tradition called Yahosheanism, he was noticed and nominated as an unsung hero by many journal platforms and Non Governmental Organizations.
On Sat. 23rd March 2013, he received an Award of World Peace Ambassador from the International Association of World Peace Advocates at Bayelsa State Government House Banquet Hall. As he returned from the occasion, he thought of how he can use the honor to help humanity. In the course of this thought, he noticed that he received UN volunteers roster number along. This development spurred him to investigate the actual meaning and worth of the roaster number which he realized was directly from UN Volunteers Office Bonn, Germany.
Meshiyach Cosmos Yahzitere Okoh immediately developed interest on UN Volunteering as it suit his childhood ambition. He planned to Inculcate the idea of Voluntarism in the group that gave him Award but couldn't succeed. He left the group with some Ambassadors who joined to established another group named Organization of World Peace Ambassador where he tried to sell same idea but also failed to convince the Members of the Board of Trustees.
On 8th May, 2013, he went to his town to celebrate the honor with his relatives, friends and contemporaries. He used the occasion to educate the participants on the importance of Voluntarism in humanity's existence and development. At this moment, some of the people saw reason on his inductions and joined him to form a group called the Organization of UN Volunteers, Nigeria. This group sought for acceptance into the database of UN DESA, Civil Society Organization(CSO) as Non Governmental Organization and was allowed.
Based on this prestigious status, the body commenced grouping of members and started having meetings. But the Pioneers had strong disagreement on the group's aims and objectives. When Meshiyach Okoh and some pioneers proposed for social oriented mass movement, others stood for capitalist tendencies. This disagreement made Meshiyach Okoh and some of the Pioneers to leave the group and formed International Organisation of UN Volunteers(IOUNV) and sought it's acceptance into UN DESA database and got approved.
The group commenced online activities that processed to the formations of WhatsApp chat groups of Nations, Regions, States, Districts and community's levels.
The chat groups have started gravitating down to offline meetings and activities in some of the units. Each of the Units is managedj by a Coordinator, Deputy Coordinator, Secretary and other officers.
In its bid to get accreditation in the UN ECOSOC, the group has been registered with the South African Home Affairs Ministry as its host nation.
MOTIVATIONS AND INSPIRATIONS:.The founder of the International Organisation of UNited Volunteers developed interests on Volunteering right from his kindergarten days. As a child born closely to the outburst of Nigeria /Biafran civil war, he grew with flashes and memories of how communal voluntarism helped people of his community and indeed refugees to sustain in the harsh war situations.
Shortly after the declaration of the Independence of Biafran from Nigeria, the Federal government of Nigeria reacted adversely and such progressed to full blown war.
Shortly, the Nigerian Armed Forces swiftly over ran many cities that were under the defunct Biafran nation. There was total economic blockades on all communities in the Igbo land. With devastations of war, refugees concentrated more on the central areas of Igbo land. This is the area of the founder of this group.
He grew up watching how his people were voluntarily taking care of the surging refugees. Many refugees settled in his compound and neighbors were contributing foods and other essentials for the sustainability of the refugees. Although, he was a child but he kept that goodness and palliatives in his mind.
When growing, he heard of how defunct Biafran Armed Forces established Land Army Program where people voluntarily supported government agencies on farming activities.
So many activities relating to Biafran agitations and wars surrounded on people's volunteer efforts. After the war, he saw his people stood up to greatness through communal voluntarism. He saw his people engaging on communal farming schemes. Youths engaged on joint farming groups that help their parents to cultivate their crops in the seasons. As he became full grown man, he developed the thought that Volunteering is one of the essential human essences that have been ignored. And such ignorance breed lots of degradation to humanity. He came to the conclusion that a society that operates wholly on selfish and capitalist tendencies can't be reasonable until some flagrant of Volunteering spirit is inculcated. Since Voluntary works helped his people during war and post war periods, such aspect of human nature must be groomed into a helping pad to efforts of societal norms. Hence, he developed the thought of Community volunteering.

The idea is working out. Our groups are increasing daily. Activities on the groups are showing total acceptances and appreciations by both leaders and members. We are so excited on the reports.
On my little part as the President of this great family, I have been sleepless on expansionist ideology of the group. I have taken much of my time to oversee activities and postings of members on many of the groups. I found that many Leaders and Members are on point of our path. Although, there are some members that feel to use the groups to share of their personalities and aggrandizements. To such posters, I notice as well how committed members use to react and make necessary corrective actions.
I applaud the works of IOUN Volunteers Activation group. The team is doing great jobs. They have tried to activate many groups and keep them growing stronger.
There are some groups that are too low and non active. I am aware that the Activation group is not handy of all IOUN Volunteers groups.
We created these groups to spread our agenda to various locations of the globe. Our critics may see us through the pictures of inactiveness of some groups, but that's wrong judgement.
Before we create any group, there are certain conditions we request from the first members. Many of them affirms to follow up but unfortunately fail to deliver. Some of them are passionate about our vision but are disengaged by their system's defaults. We have noticed these areas when we move into activations.
But in all circumstances, we are winning because we have many active moving groups.
IOUN Volunteers Activation group and Secretariat should keep and work with this list as I present today 28th December 2021. The group comprises of, Continentals Regional Continentals, Nationals, Regionals, States, Districts and Community's units. I am always available to provide links of any of the groups to both Secretariat and Activation group in times they so require.
