Volunteer work is impactful -- The National Coordinator for IOUN Volunteers, Yemen; Dr. Jamil Mohammad Quassem

On 11th June 2022, the National Advisor for IOUN Volunteers Yemen, Dr. Jamil Mohammad Quassem delivered a veritable lecture on volunteering to IOUN Volunteers and indeed the entire humanity through a subject matter he pined as this; "Volunteer work and its impact on comprehensive development"
According to him,  developed societies seek to bring about comprehensive development that includes meeting the basic needs of citizens, providing job opportunities for young people, reducing unemployment rates, achieving justice in the distribution of income, improving levels of education, health and welfare in general for all citizens, and spreading the values ​​of the love of knowledge and the involvement of all groups in the pursuit of knowledge and mastery of work.  .
 The human being is the primary economic and social wealth of any society, the basis for its progress, and to the extent of his maturity, awareness and knowledge of his rights and duties, and his willingness to participate and assume responsibility - to the extent that development is achieved in this society.
 Charitable and voluntary work is an essential tributary of comprehensive development, reflecting the citizen's awareness of his role in the renaissance and advancement of his country.  Therefore, developed countries are keen to include voluntary work as a science that is taught in schools, institutes, universities and training courses for “civil society” organizations, and its concept, objectives and fields have been presented in many publications, whether books or periodicals.
 Definition of volunteer work:
 Volunteering - in its simplest definition - is the exertion of human effort, individually or collectively, for the benefit of society without a specific mandate, and is based - mainly - on free desire and self-motivation.
 The volunteer does not aim to achieve a financial return or a special profit, but rather to gain a sense of belonging to the community, and to assume some responsibilities that contribute to meeting urgent social, economic or cultural needs, or serving and addressing one of the issues that the community suffers from, whether it is a global issue;  Such as supporting rights, consolidating freedoms.
The lessons were highly apprehended and appreciated by participants.
